Elizabeth schools honored as 2025 N.J. Schools of Character

According to https://www.nj.com/, three Elizabeth Public Schools were among 22 schools statewide named as 2025 New Jersey Schools of Character by Character.org

Victor Mravlag School No. 21, William F. Halloran School No. 22, and Juan Pablo Duarte – José Julián Martí School No. 28 received the prestigious honor for their exemplary character education initiatives, according to a statement released by the district.

Each year, Character.org selects schools that have developed a comprehensive approach to instilling positive character traits in students. Criteria are based on 11 principles, including creating a caring school community, providing opportunities for moral action, and engaging families and communities as partners in character-building.

The 22 New Jersey honorees are now in the running to be named National Schools of Character, Character.org’s highest distinction. Elizabeth Public Schools has an impressive track record, with 12 schools previously earning state-level honors and nine going on to achieve national recognition.
