As reported by nj.com, families with children and teens living with autism and other sensory sensitivities to apply for the 2025 Sensory Friendly Summer Camp, according to a statement released Monday by the Union County Board of Commissioners.
The free camp, coordinated annually by the Department of Human Services through the Office for Persons with Disabilities and Special Needs, provides an inclusive and fun outdoor experience for children ages 12-16 and young adults ages 17-21.
The camp will run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. from Aug. 18 to Aug. 22 at the Trailside Nature and Science Center in Mountainside.
Campers will spend the week exploring nature using their senses through activities like nature walks, games, scavenger hunts, arts & crafts, and animal encounters.
