AMERICAN LANDMARK DEVELOPMENT COMPLETES LEASING FOR FIRST PHASE OF CENTURION UNION IN DOWNTOWN UNION, N.J.

Developer Eyes 1st Quarter, 2021 for Second Phase of Luxury Apartments in Union Center Retail District

American Landmark Development has a definite success story on its hands in downtown Union, NJ where it has executed the wildly successful leasing program for the initial phase of CENTURION UNION, a collection of 80 luxury apartments and full suite of amenities in the heart of the bustling Union Center retail district.

The Elizabeth, N.J.-based developer teamed with The Marketing Directors, the exclusive marketing and leasing agent for CENTURION UNION, to complete leasing for the five-story building in record time despite having to adopt a digital leasing strategy almost immediately after opening.   American Landmark Development relied on its philosophy of introducing signature rental properties in vibrant and walkable downtown setting and with easy access to mass transportation to achieve the noteworthy milestone in such short order.

Located at 975 Bonnel Court in the Union County township, CENTURION UNION has unquestionably played a pivotal role in the transformation of a re-imagined Union Center into one of New Jersey’s most desired live/play downtown districts.   It has delivered over 100 residents within walking distance from the long-cherished restaurants, shops and contemporary dining and retail services along Stuyvesant and Morris Avenues.  New Jersey Transit’s Union Station, which provides service to Newark Penn Station, is less than ten minutes away, and busses to New York City depart nearby on Morris Avenue.

“Demand is on the rise for superior quality rental buildings in outer ring suburbs with tremendous downtown environments and great access to New York City,” said Manuel A. Fernandez, Founder of American Landmark Development.  “That’s exactly what we offer at CENTURION UNION and throughout our entire rental portfolio.  This building entered the market at the perfect time and drew renters who wanted a sophisticated urban lifestyle like nearby Hoboken and Jersey City, but with less congestion and a much more attractive price.  The overwhelming results speak for themselves.  The leasing success of the initial offering will undoubtedly serve as a catalyst as we put the finishing touches on the community’s second phase.”

CENTURION UNION’s role in the ascent of downtown Union will grow exponentially greater as construction moves forward quickly on a new four-story building along Stuyvesant Avenue that represents the second phase of this mixed-use development, which  American Landmark expects to deliver in the first quarter of 2021.  Leases have already been signed for a portion of the 10,000 square feet of retail space, including Unity Bank which will anchor the space.  The entire project will occupy 724 linear feet along Stuyvesant Avenue.

American Landmark Development is the designated redeveloper of the Stuyvesant Avenue Redevelopment Project, which will ultimately include 300 new residences and approximately 27,000 square feet of retail space housed in four buildings.

The fully leased first building offered a mix of luxury one-and-two bedroom homes and a host of modern amenities that include 24-hour controlled access, a fitness center with state-of-the-art cardio and weight-training equipment, including The Mirror, an interactive fitness system that provides access to thousands of real-time workout regimens and classes,  game room, resident-only lounge, flexible co-working space, children’s playroom, dog run and onsite parking.

Generously appointed homes at CENTURION UNION feature keyless entry doors and expansive living spaces with nine-foot ceiling heights, wide wood-style plank flooring, and vented in-home washer and dryers by GE.  Kitchens offer full-size slate GE appliances, gas range stoves, island/peninsula workspaces and quartz countertops, while luxurious baths are equipped with glass-enclosed showers, porcelain tile and polished chrome fixtures.

Following the rapid lease-up of CENTURION UNION’s initial phase, American Landmark is well positioned to expand its footprint in New Jersey’s rental market.    This includes a new boutique apartment building in the works near Elizabeth River Park, and a planned new development in Newark, NJ that will be the next in its signature series of CENTURION rental communities.    The ventures will join other projects being pursued by the developer in key New Jersey urban markets.
