Garwood Still Rocks! Coming to Downtown Garwood Next Weekend

Garwood Still Rocks! will take place next weekend (Sunday, September 19th) in Downtown Garwood, NJ.  For the first time ever, the fun-filled event will take place in the fall thanks to the efforts of its key sponsor Vermella at Garwood Station, reports its organizer the Greater Westfield Area Chamber of Commerce (GWACC).  The new luxury rental community from Russo Development, which features 296 stylish apartments and an impressive 40,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor amenities, will open this fall in this Union County borough.

Garwood is revving up once again to rock out and enjoy a full day of family fun on Sunday, September 19th, 2021, from 11 AM – 6 PM (rain or shine) when Garwood Still Rocks! returns after a one-year hiatus due to the Pandemic.

Garwood Still Rocks! features a classic car show hosted by “Hot Rod Mike” which is expected to draw over 100 cars this year, in addition to an all-day live stage, entertainment, vendors, and festival food including many area favorite food trucks.  Artisans and craftspeople will display paintings, pottery, photography, handmade jewelry, furniture, and many other unique gifts.  The Crossroads is sponsoring the Beer & Wine Garden and providing the main entertainment at the Garwood Rocks main stage. The music lineup will begin with performances by two local music schools.  Scheduled to perform are:

  • 11:00AM              Valencia School of Music
  • 12:30PM              RMC Music
  • 2:00PM                4 Flight Rock
  • 3:30PM                Mushmouth
  • 5:00PM                Riff Raff

“We’re delighted to help support this wonderful event,” said Ed Russo, Chief Executive Officer of Russo Development.  “This annual gathering of residents and visitors in a family-oriented setting enjoying so many of the things that make Garwood special is a great example of the strong sense of community that exists here which attracted us to this close-knit neighborhood.  We came to town to be an active, contributing neighbor, and look forward to helping Garwood Still Rocks!”

Garwood Mayor Sara Todisco said “I am beyond excited for the return of our street fair with Garwood Still Rocks! happening in September. It’s a highlight of the year to see our community and neighbors come together to enjoy the live music, car show, food, and shopping. I’m very grateful for the key sponsorship by Vermella at Garwood Station, which helped make this day possible along with all the other sponsors and the Greater Westfield Area Chamber of Commerce.”
