Why We Dance is presenting a free Afro Beats Workshop at the Forest Road Park Building in Fanwood on Sunday, August 30, from 3 to 5 p.m. The open level class welcomes dancers of all experience levels and asks attendees to come dressed in athletic wear.

Instructor Shari LP, a New Jersey based choreographer and educator with more than seven years of teaching experience across the tri state area, will lead the session. Her background includes work at Broadway Dance Center along with choreography for music videos, live performances, and festivals. Free refreshments and arts and crafts will also be available at the event, which is supported by a 2026 Union County HEART Grant from the Union County Board of County Commissioners.
